BOX OFFICE: Immortals Wins the Weekend Both Domestically and Internationally! |

Relativity Media's Immortals, directed by Tarsem Singh (The Cell) and starring Henry Cavill, Mickey Rourke, Stephen Dorff, Freida Pinto and Luke Evans, took the first place at the domestic box office with $32 million in its first weekend. The R-rated film was produced for $75 million. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Immortals is #1 internationally too, with $37.1 million.
"Opening across 35 overseas markets – including Russia, China, the U.K. and Japan -- Relativity Media’s Immortals decisively claimed the weekend’s No. 1 box office spot on the foreign theatrical circuit, grossing an estimated $37.1 million."
So, that's around $68 million worldwide for the first weekend. Also, Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson's The Adventures of Tintin had a 30% drop, making another $26.7 million and with that, it passed a $150M mark internationally. Film took #2 spot this weekend. Read more: |
